This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a subscription.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a subscription.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
If you honestly think that by changing my artwork a little, it suddenly becomes someone elses and I no longer have the rights to it, you're insane. I shouldn't have to use a watermark. That's why every picture on deviantart says "copyright" underneath it. Get it?
As far as thanking the artist goes: I'm a pretty kind and reasonable person, and if they had gotten permission from me first, sure, I would have been quite thankful. I used to have a lot of photos on here, and [with permission] many, many people have used them in the past, and I have always given them much praise. Taking my work without permission, writing some words on it, and then saying "i used your work!" doesn't tell me that the artist was doing something for me, it tells me that the artist has a lack of respect for my art and doesn't feel the need to seek permission to use MY OWN WORK.
Also: "The artwork that your friend threw a hissy fit over was something very personal to my friend". K. If running my photo through a filter (emotions involved or not, that's what it was) is something really personal, then just imagine how personal that photo is to me. I'm sure you already know this, but when someone creates an ORIGINAL piece of art, a lot of heart and soul goes into it...and to see someone come along, basically steal it, turn it into something else, and then casually let me know is nothing short of painful.
If there's anything in here you don't understand, then, well, too bad? I'll still be here, getting pissed at people for stealing my photos and writing all the god damn whiny journal entries I please.

CARPE DIEM
I just thought I'd let you know I featured one of your poems in a journal of mine.
